Starting from the Market Square, we'll travel through town, turning onto the Knock Road before taking the back road behind the Parish Church and making our way out the Bog Road. We'll cross the disused railway track (careful now!) and onwards to the turn for the Cuiltybo Mass Centre. We'll take a right here and after a further kilometre we'll take a left and pass through the quiet farming area of Cloonmore before emerging again onto the Bog Road where we'll turn left and head back to town again. I propose a cup of coffee in the Poet's Corner Café in the Cil Aodáin Hotel at the end of the spin. This is an easy going spin and will accommodate all ability levels.
Being retired, I have plenty of time for cycling and I have completed a number of multi-week unsupported tours in the United States and Europe. I am very keen to encourage those who might have cycled in the past and who have stopped to get back on the saddle for purely leisure purposes. I have no interest in competitive riding and would be delighted if participants would feel encouraged merely to cycle to the shop!
It rained yesterday in East Mayo and the forecast is for heavy rain tomorrow - but today the weather Gods were on our side. A great turnout!
