We will travel along the main road for approx 12km until we reach Kildangan. Here we will turn right, head up over the railway bridge and past Kildangan Stud. We will take a right at the crossroads onto a quiet country road and right again at the next junction. There is a short incline here before we reach Nurney. At the t-junction we will turn right and continue to our coffee stop at the Petrol Station in Nurney (our halfway point).
Following our stop, we will continue on to Booleigh, where we will take a right turn at Conlan's Pub, back towards Athy. We will continue along this road for a further 4.4km before taking another right turn. Shortly after the junction the road narrows to one lane at one point and you will have to yield to oncoming traffic.
We will travel along this road for another few km, and cross over the railway bridge before coming to a t-junction where we will turn left to bring us back into Athy to finish our spin. The short section of road from the bridge to the junction is windy and narrow in places so care will have to be taken along here.
I am an enthusiastic leisure cyclist who loves getting out in the fresh air and exploring the countryside on my bike. I would like to encourage cyclists of all abilities to join me on a social spin where nobody gets left behind.
