Leaving the church car park, we head up the path which takes us on to the back road from Barntown National School, up to the small roundabout at the local shop. At the roundabout we cycle straight through heading out the Taghmon road. At the 6km mark, we turn down to the right and follow the L3011 all the way to Tomcool Cross on the N25. When it is safe to do so, we will cross this main road and make our way along the L7018 in the direction of Glynn village, passing some beautiful scenic countryside as we go. In Glynn village itself, at the 13km mark, we take a left hand turn in the direction of Bulgan. We follow the road we are on all the way to Muchwood crossroads but rather than head out on the main road here, we turn right and head down the narrow road which takes us up through Polehore and on towards Ardcandrisk. We won't be cycling down to the river today, we will be turning off to the right, cycling over the small bridge and making our way up the winding turn that is the small, short hill at the bottom of Ballygoman. Feel free to hop off and walk this part if you find it a little tough. When we've got our breath back, we continue all the way up through Ballygoman until we reach the main N25 road again. There's traffic calming islands here and we can use these to help us cross the road safely as we walk our bikes back across the road, back to the church car park. This spin will take us down lesser travelled roads and hopefully give us the opportunity to explore our local area in greater detail.

I love my bike! I love adventure, being outside in the fresh air, on the move, all year round. I love how it makes me feel - Alive! I honestly believe the best experiences are shared experiences which is why I decided to register to become a Ride Leader. I want to share the 'Feel Good' with as many people as possible. We will never be as young again as we are now, let's give it a go and see what happens!
Really pleasant spin this evening on particularly quiet country roads.
