This is a spin from Clarinbridge to Athenry and back. Starting from the school in Clarinbridge, we travel south to Kilcolgan where we turn left towards Craughwell. We cross over the main road just outside Craughwell and take the road to Athenry. When we get to Athenry, we will stop for coffee at the outdoor area at the Barracks restaurant, having completed about 19km. Don't forget to bring some money for coffee and cake, and don’t forget to bring a face mask.
After the coffee break, we will head back towards Derrydonnell, taking the left turn towards Clarinbridge when we go under the motorway. When we get to Casey’s Cross, we turn left and then take the next right bringing us through Kilcornan and back to our starting point in Clarinbridge for a total duration of about 34km.
As the mornings are getting a bit darker, bring bike lights if you can. Also, while we will always hope for fine weather, mudguards are a good idea in case of rain/wet roads.

I've been cycling for over 20 years both individually and as part of a cycling club. I've really enjoyed cycling in a group, both the exercise and the social side. I'd like to help others in the locality to get out on their bikes and get that enjoyment as well. Nothing too strenuous and guaranteed to include some decent coffee stops along the way!
