Bike Week takes place from 19th to 27th September. This spin will be a great way to kick it off!
Starting from the school in Clarinbridge we travel through Kilcornan, turning left at the back of Kilcornan and making our way to Casey’s Cross. We then turn right and cross over the main road at the Green Briar. There is a little bit of uphill on this road bringing us over the railway tracks. When we get to the next junction, we will turn right towards Athenry where we will stop for coffee at Mocha Beans. Don't forget to bring some money for coffee and cake, and don’t forget to bring a face mask.
After the coffee stop, we will return to Clarinbridge via Derrydonnell and Oranmore for a total distance of 33.5km.

I've been cycling for over 20 years both individually and as part of a cycling club. I've really enjoyed cycling in a group, both the exercise and the social side. I'd like to help others in the locality to get out on their bikes and get that enjoyment as well. Nothing too strenuous and guaranteed to include some decent coffee stops along the way!
Lovely dry and sunny morning for a fully booked out spin. A bit chilly at the start due to the northerly wind but cycling into the headwind soon sorted out the chills. The group worked well together into the wind and had a well deserved coffee break at Mocha Beans in Athenry.
After the break, the combination of the caffeine and the tailwind resulted in the pace getting picked up on the return journey to Clarinbridge via Oranmore. All were still smiling at the finish and looking forward to the next spin.
Overall stats for the spin:
Average Speed: 20.5km/hr
Cycling duration: 1 hr 39 mins
Overall duration: 2 hr 30 mins
