Starting from the school in Clarinbridge, we cycle through Kilcolgan and take the left turn about 400m after the village. We then turn right after 2km to bring us onto the dark road. At the end of this road we will turn right and then left at the crossroads shortly afterwards. About 1km down this road, we turn left towards Ballyglass. At the end of the road, we take a left turn which brings us back to Craughwell and our coffee stop at 'Chef’s Café', having travelled about 23km. Don't forget to bring some money for coffee and cake. Coffee will be outdoors so bring an extra layer to avoid getting cold.

After the coffee break, we will travel (carefully) across the railway tracks and take the second left, cycling past Craughwell soccer pitches and Clarinbridge nursing home. We then cycle through Kilcornan and back to our starting point at Clarinbridge school for a total distance of about 35km. As the mornings are still a bit dark, bring bike lights if you can. Also, while we will always hope for fine weather, mudguards are a good idea in case of rain/wet roads.

I've been cycling for over 20 years both individually and as part of a cycling club. I've really enjoyed cycling in a group, both the exercise and the social side. I'd like to help others in the locality to get out on their bikes and get that enjoyment as well. Nothing too strenuous and guaranteed to include some decent coffee stops along the way!

The weather gods were kind to us once again. A beautiful day and the roads were quiet. Our planned coffee location, 'Chef's Café' in Craughwell was still closed for Christmas, but the 'Full of Beans Trailer' saved the day!
