Departing from Comber Leisure Centre, we will ride out the A21 (Bridge Street) to the Link Rd, continuing along the A21 before turning left on to the main Killinchy Rd for a short while. We will then turn left on to the Ballydrain Rd, following the route to Mahee Island (and the famous Nendrum Monastic site). After a short stop, we will return along the same road to the Ballydrain Rd, and then we will follow the Tullynakill Rd, Ardmillan Rd, Killinakin Rd and finally the Ballydorn Rd to our well deserved coffee stop at Daft Eddies. Our return route is the reverse of our outward route but we will not visit Mahee Island on the return journey. The outward journey will be approx 10kms longer than the return trip.

I'm an enthusiastic leisure cyclist, being a member of my local club in Killinchy. Earlier in 2019, I completed a charity cycle for Marie Curie from Malin Head to Mizen Head. Cycling is how I get my exercise, helping me control my weight, all the while enjoying good fun and camaraderie with my friends. I'm keen to help people in my local area, who perhaps presently cycle alone or in small groups, build their confidence so they can enjoy the experience that cycling in a larger group can bring.
While rain threatened all morning we were very lucky and had a nice dry cycle. The weather was warm, chat plentiful, the coffee stop was most enjoyable and we all returned home safe.
