Departing Comber Leisure Centre, we follow Bridge St to the A21 bypass, turning left for approx 300 yards along the main Killinchy Rd before taking a left for the Ballydrain Rd. We follow this gentle road for about 1 mile before turning up the Ballygraffan Rd, which is a short sharp climb. Crossing the main Killinchy Rd, we follow the Tullynagee Rd, which features a moderate drag for about half a mile, before we take the downhill Kilmood Church Rd to the Ballybunden Rd. This sweeping road takes us to Balloo wth only one short climb. Turning left at Balloo we have a gentle climb along the Beechvale Rd to Killinchy and then cover undulating roads, with a couple of short tougher hills, down to the scenic Whiterock Bay where we stop for a well deserved coffee at Daft Eddies. Here we take time to enjoy the wonderful scenery in this beautiful part of Co. Down.

After refreshments, we take the Strangford Lough coast road home via the Ballydorn Rd, Ardmillan Rd, Tullynakill Rd and Ballydrain Rd and enjoy further wonderful views of Strangford Lough. At the end of the Ballydrain Rd we retrace our steps back to Comber Leisure Centre.

Overall, this is a nice undulating road with a few short climbs thrown in. No-one will be left behind and with plenty of water stops scheduled this route with beautiful scenery to see will be an enjoyable cycle run.

I'm an enthusiastic leisure cyclist, being a member of my local club in Killinchy. Earlier in 2019, I completed a charity cycle for Marie Curie from Malin Head to Mizen Head. Cycling is how I get my exercise, helping me control my weight, all the while enjoying good fun and camaraderie with my friends.
