We will leave from Fitzgerald's Park by the Mardyke Walk, Banks of the Lee Walkway, along Great William O'Brien St, Blackpool Village. We will head in the direction of Blarney, taking the Old Mallow Road until we get to Blarney square. From there, we will take the Killowen road and we will cycle up the hill until we get to Courtbrack where we will turn back towards Blarney again. We will cycle beside the Shournag river downhill. At the T junction we will go right to Tower and from there we will head back to Cork passing by the Kerry Pike, Knocknaheeney to finish at Fitzgerald's Park.
I have been cycling all my life and I love it! Whether going to work or for the pleasure of it, I like the freedom and health aspect of it. For the last number of years I have been a member of a cycling group and I have become interested in sharing my experiences with others. Therefore, I would love to help and support people that would like to get into cycling but don't know how to do it or lack the skills and confidence to do so.
It was a cold day with some rain and even a hail storm, but we were lucky enough to avoid the worst storm.
Four people showed up and seemed to enjoy the day.
Everything went well and we had a nice cuppa after the ride.
