We'll depart from Fitzgerald's Park and go through the city heading to Blackpool. Leaving behind the shopping centre and industrial estate, we'll take the old Mallow road and stay on it for approximately 10km. We'll turn left to take Rocky Road, later Station Road, all the way down to Blarney.
At The Square we'll stop to have a break and, maybe, a cuppa!
Then we'll cycle up Killowen Road for a few kilometres until we arrive to Courtbrack. We'll turn left there and left again at the next junction to take the road that goes along the Shournagh river in a gentle but constant descent.
After 7kms, we'll make consecutive left and right turns to start our return to Cork city. After 2kms on the Bawnafinny Road, we'll turn left at Mahony's Cross to what will, eventually, become Blarney Street.
For the remainder of our cycle we'll stay on this road, passing by Kerry Pike and Clogheen and arriving to the city from the west. We'll finish in Fitzgerald's Park to complete the loop.

I have been cycling all my life and I love it! Whether going to work or for the pleasure of it, I like the freedom and health aspect of it. For the last number of years I have been a member of a cycling group and I have become interested in sharing my experiences with others. Therefore, I would love to help and support people that would like to get into cycling but don't know how to do it or lack the skills and confidence to do so.
Thank you all for coming today.
It was a lovely cycle on a beautiful day.
