This is a mostly flat route with a few small hills and bridges. We will leave from the school in Nurney turning left down past the church. We will then turn left after the bridge at O'Brien's pub and head straight on to Walterston. We will turn left at Walterstown cottages. At Duneany cross, we will continue straight towards Monasterevin. After almost 3km, we will turn left again at the thatched cottage heading back towards Kildangan. At the top of this road we will turn right for Kildangan. At Kildangan church we will take another left through Rickardstown and on to Cherrymills where we will turn left on to Harristown. Following the road round to the right through Harristown coming back in to Nurney behind the school and church. We will turn right at the top of the road back for the village and turn right again at O'Brien's pub. We will finish with a last push up the hill back to the school, and will then head for a cuppa and chat!
Dont forget to bring some money for a tea or coffee!
I'm an enthusiastic leisure cyclist for the last 3 years and it would be great to get as many people as possible out cycling. I started off struggling to do 20km and now I look forward to the next sportive!
Great morning to start AXA community bike rides in Nurney. Thanks to everyone who took part and hope to have you all back for the next spin. I don't know if its a good or bad thing that we were so busy chatting the whole time that I forgot to take more photos!
