Leaving Barntown Church car park, we cycle directly across the main road and head down into Ballygoman which is a quieter back road. This is all downhill until we take a right turn for Ardcandrisk at the bottom of the hill, where we will have a flat cycle all the way along beside the River Slaney heading in the direction of Ferrycarrig (still on back roads). We will pass the Irish National Heritage Park on our way. Reaching the junction for the main road we enter it and cycle left and then turn right, taking the back road towards Wexford town at Ferrycarrig Bridge.

We head in the direction of town (still flat!) following the course of the river as we go. We turn right on our first roundabout here, heading up the hill by Wexford Hospital. Good news! The coffee stop and toilet break are at the top of this hill. We will re-group half way up this hill and again at the top (it's a tricky one so if anyone prefers to walk up this section, that's absolutely fine). Our coffee stop is 20 mins approximately. We then proceed up the road past Wexford Racecourse, up a short hill and then head down hill out in the direction of the New Ross road roundabout. We cycle straight through this roundabout and make our way back to Barntown Church car park, which is flat for the best part with a small drag where our cycle finishes. The second stage of the cycle from our coffee stop back to the our finish point is on the main road.

I love my bike! I love adventure, being outside in the fresh air, on the move, all year round. I love how it makes me feel - Alive! I honestly believe the best experiences are shared experiences which is why I decided to register to become a Ride Leader. I want to share the 'Feel Good' with as many people as possible. We will never be as young again as we are now, let's give it a go and see what happens!
