Starting from Canal Square, we make our way to the Sion road. We continue on the Sion Road for approximately 4km before diverting to Dunbell.
At Dunbell, we take a right turn and continue for around 3km on rural roads until we intersect the main Gowran to Bennettsbridge road. The group then crosses the main road and joins a rural road for Dungarvan village.
After 3km we join the main road and turn right through the village. Around a kilometre beyond the village we take a minor road and ascend to the Tullaherin monastic site.
We then proceed to Bennettsbridge for a well earned cup of coffee at Nicholas mosse pottery.
We then return to Kilkenny city via Wallslough and the main Waterford road.

I am a leisure cyclist for many years. Over the last few years I have participated in many AXA Community Bike Rides and like their camaraderie and ethos. I have completed the leaders course so that I can share that enjoyment with fellow leisure cyclists.
Lovely, windy morning for a cycle! We warmed up quickly and had a nice coffee outside Nicholas Mosse Pottery, before our return to Kilkenny.
