Description

Taking off from the Quay we will take the Graignamanagh road from Thomastown uphill towards Coppenagh cross roads. This is the most challenging part of this cycle in that we are climbing for approximately 9km, but once we are over this, that's the climbing done. We will turn left onto a quiet, little road to take us to Dungarvan down the famous Stook hill. We will stop at the top of it for the chance to take a few photographs as the view is stunning. From Dungarvin we will take a right turn towards Tullaherin which is an easy ride until we reach the R700 Bennettsbridge road where we will take a left turn going downhill all the way back to Thomastown. We will then enjoy our well earned cuppa and cake at one of the cafes in Market Square. This is a challenging ride in the beginning but much easier then and very enjoyable.

About

I am a cycling enthusiast and feel it is such a great way to exercise in a leisurely enjoyable pastime. Having experienced being a participant with our Kilkenny group, I felt it would be a great asset to have a local group in Thomastown, which is why I became a leader. I try to vary my rides distance and speed wise to accommodate everyone's level of fitness and bike confidence.

This was a great ride! Very hilly but some great downhills. Only had one participant but we both enjoyed it immensely.
