Description

This is the inaugural AXA Community Bike Ride in Tipperary with a nice easy route to get the ball rolling. We will set off from the car park at the Rock of Cashel and take the old N8 out of town as far as the M8 Roundabouts. From there we will take a left and cycle past the renowned Ballysheehan Stud Farm before taking another left for Synone and Longfield Park and on to the cross-road at Boherlahan. Here we will again take a left to make our way back to Cashel.

Lycra not required!

As will always be the case with our AXA Community Bike Rides, the cycle will finish up with a visit to one of the many very fine coffee shops in Cashel. There we can plan for our next outing!

About

I joined the Cashel Rock Pedallers in 2014. Since then I built up my distances, from an initial 5km in 2016, completing a 170km on the 2012 Olympics Road Race Course! I have also completed many more Sportives, including all four Great Dublin Bike Rides. If I can do it at nearly 70, so can you!

The first Tipperary AXA Community Bike Ride got off to a very good start with four participants leaving the car park at the Rock of Cashel. Leaving the ancient City of the Kings behind we travelled out the (N7) old Dublin Road for 5km, then took a left at Ballysheehan Stud and on to Boherlahan via Synone. From Boherlahan Cross we headed back to Cashel and a very welcome coffee at The Bake House, one of Cashel's fine cafés! All expressed delight at their nice leisurely Sunday morning spin and are looking forward to many more!
