Description

This route will take us on the Limerick Greenway from Rathkeale to Ardagh to Newcastle West, to Barnagh and back to Rathkeale. Please bring an extra tube as this is a chipped roadway & a lot of hedging so punctures are high on this route! Make sure your tyres are in good condition & pumped to the recommended tyre pressure so you have an enjoyable & puncture free spin! Again, the weather is unpredictable this time of the year; chilly & rain so be ready for the changing elements.

What a beautiful morning for a cycle! I started in Askeaton & joined the greenway in Rathkeale. Unfortunately I only had 1 cyclist today.

I must recommend this route to any age group. I meet walkers, runners & cyclists from the age of 3 to seniors. This railway is amazing this time of the year. With the fall of the leaves blowing in the wind, the clear blue skies with little clouds, it was a day that are few & far between. Until next Saturday, safe cycling!
