Created for keen cyclists who want to gradually build their miles. Hopefully third time lucky! This is the third of six cycles (29miles) but unfortunately the first two cycles had to be cancelled due to bad weather. Leaving the Village Inn on the Old Mountfield Road we head left out to and across the Cookstown Road onto the Farmhill Road. We then take a right on the Drumnakilly Road and at the roundabout take the second left onto the Donaghanie Road followed by a right over Cranny Road and again at the roundabout take the second left onto the Bankmore Road. We go left onto the main A5 Doogary Road followed by first right onto the Seskinore Road. We stay on this road and on reaching Seskinore Village we take the first left onto the Moylagh Road. We cross over the A5 and head for Beragh, we take right in the village and head for Sixmilecross followed by Carrickmore. We then head out the Drumnakilly Road and return to the Village Inn where we will have a well deserved cuppa and something to eat.
Due to the really bad weather the beginner cycles will not start ontil the end of March when the weather and daylight hopefully improve. Watch this space!
I'm an enthusiastic leisure cyclist keen to see more people cycling in my area. This is a great way to meet new friends and clear the head, plus have a bit of fun!
Third time lucky! I am pleased to report that on my third attempt to organise a ride it has now taken place! It was a wet and windy morning but Anne and Joanne were determined to turn up and get out on their bikes. Unfortunately Les had to work at the last minute so it was just us three ladies. We were feeling very pleased to have completed the 29 miles especially with the bad weather. The cuppa and treats on offer at the Village Inn Coffee Shop where well worth cycling for. I am now looking forward to our next cycle next weekend and hope more people can join us.
