The Great Waterford Greenway Ride

Our last ride as part of this year's Bike Week is going to be the whole of the Waterford Greenway. Starting from Grattan Quay in Waterford City, we will travel out along the Greenway, through Kilmeaden, Kilmacthomas, Durrow and onto the Park Hotel in Dungarvan for some refreshments. Then we travel all the way back to the city again. Although the Greenway is not too challenging, the distance is more than most novices would be happy with. Sign up if you want to join us.

To make up for the postponement of The Great Dublin Bike Ride, we decided to do a long local ride. The Waterford Greenway is the perfect place for a great day on the bike. Starting from the Waterford City end, we set off from the km 0 marker, and ticked off the markers along the river bank, through the countryside and out around the mountains. Finally emerging onto the coastline and rolling into the end of the Greenway at Dungarvan, where we had a great lunch laid on by the Bike Week funding. Once we were fully fed, we made our return trip to the city. What a day.
