Route: Leaving Kate's Farmshop, we cross the road and head down through Clonard great and on through Hayestown. At the end of the road, we take a left hand turn, cycling straight through the Piercestown roundabout, where the road takes us to to Rathaspeck. We remain on the road we are on and cycle on down through Coolballow. At the T junction at the end of this road, we take a lefthand turn, taking us out on the R730 main Rosslare road. We head in the direction of Wexford town and on arrival to Maudlintown, we head off to the lefthand side and cycle down the Faythe, veering left into the one way system at the bottom. The trees here are usually decorated with Christmas lights. Maybe we will be lucky. We turn right at the junction and then take a lefthand turn down Castlehill street. We then turn right and make our way down Parnell street.
At the bottom of Parnell street, we turn left onto Trinity street. We make our way down towards Wexford Quay, passing the Talbot hotel as we go. We continue on down along through Paul quay, rounding the crescent quay and on to commercial quay. Again, Wexford Quay is usually abundantly decorated in Christmas Lighting. We stay in the lefthand lane all the way down the quay to the traffic lights. We cycle straight through when we get our green light and head over towards Redmond Square. Redmond Square is another area where the town has a lighting extravaganza. We hang a left at the roundabout and cycle up past McCauleys pharmacy, where we turn left again onto Wexford main street cycling up the short distance to Selskar square, where we have a couple of options for our coffee stop. Santos Coffee Shop, Trimmers Lane Coffee Shop and Greenacres. We can avail of takeaway and enjoy soaking up some of the seasonal atmosphere the area has to offer. All 3 of these venues has outdoor seating too. The coffee stop is 20 mins approx.
Leaving Selskar Square, we make out way over to Westgate and we stay in our lefthand lane and cycle towards the small roundabout at the bottom of Hill street. When clear we cycle straight though and onto Spawell road. We make our way up past Redmond Park and out into Carcur. This road will take us out in the direction of Park, where we turn left at the roundabout and cycle straight through the next one. We are now making our way up the hospital hill. This is a hill of two parts, with a small roundabout in the middle (breaking up the slog!). This is a tricky one, so feel free to take your time, get off and walk if you like and we will re-group at the top. At the traffic lights at the top, we turn right into Newlands and make our way up this short hill, where Wexford Racecourse is on our lefthand side. We continue along into Newtown and then descend the downhill to the New Ross road roundabout.
We take a lefthand turn here and cycle up along to the top of this small hill; where we need to move out into the righthand/outside lane when safe to do so, as a group. We enter the roundabout, clearly signalling we are turning right and then left before our exit. We cycle back the small distance to Kate's farmshop, turning right to leave the road and returning to our start point.

I love my bike! I love adventure, being outside in the fresh air, on the move, all year round. I love how it makes me feel - Alive! I honestly believe the best experiences are shared experiences which is why I decided to register to become a Ride Leader. I want to share the 'Feel Good' with as many people as possible. We will never be as young again as we are now, let's give it a go and see what happens!
Another beautiful bright, sunlit, clear Winter's day for a bike ride. We started into countryside, cycled through town, down along the quay front where we met the Rosslare bound train, headed up into Selskar square for coffee. There's nothing quite like a burst of fresh air to clear the cobwebs.
