Description

This ride is challenging by virtue of distance not speed, and is a new route for us to experience with a newly opened café in Goresbridge for us to take our coffee and cake break. We will leave from the SuperValu car park on the Carlow Road in Thomastown. Heading to Dungarvan and taking a right turn to bring us onto quiet back roads to Goresbridge, where we will enjoy our break at 'The Goodly Barrow' café and museum, which is really nice. From here, we will journey back to Gowran, turning right at the bottom of the village to bring us across Blanchville and Dunbell, where we will turn left to get us back onto the Gowran/Bennettsbridge road, turning right towards Bennettsbridge. We will take a left turn for Tullaherin Tower and onto Stroen Fountain, taking a right turn to bring us back to Thomastown. Most of this route will keep us on quiet country roads giving us lots of opportunity to chat along the way - it is one of my favourite routes, and I think you will enjoy it as much as I do.

About

I am a cycling enthusiast and feel it is such a great way to exercise in a leisurely enjoyable pastime. Having experienced being a participant with our Kilkenny group, I felt it would be a great asset to have a local group in Thomastown, which is why I became a leader. I try to vary my rides distance and speed wise to accommodate everyone's level of fitness and bike confidence.
