Starting at Scarva Visitor Centre the route heads south mainly straight with a few corners to Poyntzpass, where there is a road crossing before continuing on towpath. On this part vehicles can use the towpath to access houses. The route continues to Jerretspass, where there is another road crossing. The route continues mainly straight to Carnbane industrial area, with another road crossing (with assistance of traffic lights), and the route continues to Newry. There is a coffee shop at the end of the route via a short section of road and road crossing. We will then head back on the route in reverse order to the Scarva Visitor Centre to finish.
I have been cycling regularly for about 7 years. I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and decided to dust off my 20yr old mountain bike and do more exercise. I joined the Banbridge Cycling Club and I’ve never looked back! I was Club Secretary for a number of years, and got involved in novice cycling and received leader training. I am pleased to say that at age 60 I have won two Time Trial trophies!
